Getting Results!

People like a result, a deliverable. So here is a list of the aspects of Innovation in Business that we can focus on. You can find more detailed and background information on the right hand side of the site.

CONSULTANCY: Before starting let’s a get an overview of where your business stands. The essence of strategy is good analysis of your situation, a candid appraisal of your skills and capabilities and finally the actions you will carry out to achieve your goals. That’s a strategy. Most companies I come across don’t really have one. They had one. But then operational focus took over, that is normal, but the ability to change suffered. We will correct that here. Here are some examples to think about.

WORKSHOPS: A favorite method to come up with new ideas. It is useful, when prepared properly and when clear actions are decided upon. Many clients want workshops and they want them immediately, they’ve usually made up their mind beforehand. However only with careful preparation beforehand do you come to a result. After all bringing a group of people together is a big investment in time and resources. While the goal of a workshop is often to come up with new ideas, it is a useful tool for also cover more in depth analysis of a business, it brings colleagues together with intimate but different viewpoints of their industry.

COACHING:Sometimes a client is doing fine. They had a pipeline of good ideas flowing, there is a regular flow of interaction taking place, but something is missing. I call this coaching. Usually it is one on one, the client is looking for feedback on their marketing story, their overall strategic direction, their relationships with suppliers or partners.

KEY NOTE SPEAKING: This is an activity I carry out often in conjunction with workshops or other activities. The main theme around my talks is around Innovation and Creating an environment for Change in your business. Drawing on a long an varied career in some of the most dynamic and interesting industries in the world in areas covering how consumers relate to technology and how engineers sometimes don’t or at least how they think they do. Provoking reaction is an good way to stimulate the brain to come up with new ways of thinking and move people out of their comfort zone.
